Submissions

All manuscripts must be in English and submitted to Elite: Journal of English Language and Literature through Online Submission by assessing the following address: http://journal.fib.uho.ac.id/index.php/elite/index, where the author must register as Author. If authors are experiencing problems with the online submission, they can contact the Editorial Office at email: [email protected].

Reviewing manuscripts

Every submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. The Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based on their reports/recommendations. If the reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within three months of the submission date.

All manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism detection, and therefore we strongly encourage authors to do their similarity test before submission.

STANDARD PAPERS. Original articles (3000 - 8000 words) inclusive of all parts of the paper. Typescripts should be arranged as follows, with each section starting on a separate page.

Title Page

• A concise and informative title.
• A list of author names, affiliation(s), and e-mail addresses.
• The name, and complete mailing address of the corresponding author.

Abstract. A concise and factual abstract (a maximum of 250 words) is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the methods used, the principal results, and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, references should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself. 

Keywords. A list in alphabetical order not exceeding 5 words

Introduction. State the reason for the work, the context, background, aims, and the hypotheses being tested. End the introduction with a brief statement of what has been achieved.

Research Method. Describe the type of research you perform and how you develop your research methods.

Finding and Discussion. Focus on explaining and evaluating what you found, showing how it relates to your literature review and research questions, and making an argument in support of your overall conclusion.

Conclusion. Restate your research topic and summarize the main points.

References. The reference list should be arranged in alphabetical order according to the authors last names. If there is more than one work by the same author, order them according to their publication date oldest to newest (therefore a 2018 publication would appear before a 2019 publication).

CITATIONS. Citation to work by four or more authors should be abbreviated with the use of et al. (e.g. Manel et al. 1999). Citation to work by one, two, or three authors should always give the author names in full. Work with the same first author and date should be coded by letters, e.g. Thompson et al.(1991a,b). Citations should be listed in chronological order in the text and be separated by a semi-colon, e.g. Balmford & Gaston (1999); Royle et al. (2007). The format for papers, theses, entire books, and chapters in books is as follows:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file should be in MS Word format NOT in Adobe Acrobat document (pdf file) format
3. English grammar and typographical errors were carefully checked.
4. The process of peer review may take 1- 6 months.
5. Articles should be written in English and make sure that your paper is prepared using the Manuscript Template.
6. The authors agree to the JOURNAL PUBLICATION ETHICS.
