This study aims to lift the oral literature Wa Ndiu-Diu are feared to be extinct due to the strong currents of globalization and modernism. Problems seen in this study is the narrative structure of oral literature Wa Ndiu-Diu and relationships as well as the function of oral literature with the natural environment. Those problems were analyzed by using the theory of folklore and eko-kritik, using qualitative methods which consist of primary data that every word, dialogue, as well as actions and events experienced figure in oral literature Wa Ndiu-Diu and secondary data that all matters relating to the object of research. These results indicate that the story Wa Ndiu-Diu has a function and a very significant position in Buton. That function is, first, the function of education (paedagogy), educational functions include education of children, and the function of education to parents. Second, the function of beliefs or myths, and third, the function of the ecological balance or nature conservation.
