The purpose of this study was to determine the dynamics of land ownership in the Kontu Forest area by the community and to describe community activities in managing land in the Kontu Forest area. Data obtained through field research using technique observation interview techniques and interviews. The results of the study showed that: (a) the dynamics of land ownership status in the Kontu forest area occurred due to community resistance with mutual claims between the community and the Muna Regional Government. The Kontu community claims the Kontu area as an ancestral heritage with an area of 401.59 hectares, with evidence of the old tomb of La Kundofani. On the other hand, the Muna Regional Government claimed that the land was part of the Jompi forest area and the Kontu Forest area based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry and Forestry Number 454 of 1999 with an area of 1,927 hectares as protected forest; (b) The community conducts farming and gardening activities in the Kontu forest area. The activity was carried out to fulfill daily needs and to build facilities and infrastructure, and to support the improvement of the standard of living of the local community.
