Mesoko is a Tolaki tradition that reflects a form of community solidarity. This tradition is carried out to provide assistance to families or other people who need material assistance. As time goes by, Mesoko also continues to experience changes so that there is little difference with some other places. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of implementation and function of the mesoko tradition in Palowewu Village. Qualitative data is collecting by both interview techniques and direct observation. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it is known that the implementation of the mesoko tradition in Palowewu community is often found in three types of celebrations, namely marriage, shopping for sick people and education facilities. The process of implementing mesoko is divided into three stages or processes, namely (1) conveying intent or intention; (2) submitting invitations or disseminating information and (3) implementing mesoko. This tradition has several functions, ranging from kinship functions, functions of solidarity, social control functions, economic functions, to cultural retention functions.
