Nilai Moral dalam Roman L’ingénu Karya Voltaire

Abstract

This study analyzes the moral values of Voltaire's novel L'Ingénu. This novel tells the story of a young Indian man who came to France in the 18th century and faced various social, cultural, and religious challenges. In this study, the author analyzes the main characters, plot, and moral messages expressed by the author through this story. The research method used in this study is a qualitative analysis of the Romance of L'Ingénu. The results of this study indicate that there are several moral values ??contained in the novel L'Ingénu. The value of honesty, the value of being yourself, the value of responsibility, the value of independence, the value of moral courage, the value of humility, and the value of critical attitude. This study provides a deeper understanding of Voltaire's work and its relevance in the context of morality and values ??that apply in today's society.
