Author Guidelines

Cakrawala Listra welcomes submissions of original research articles, literature reviews, and critical essays in the fields of Indonesian linguistics, literature, and culture. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the author for revision or rejected.

1. Submission Process

  • Manuscript Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal’s online submission system.

  • File Format: Submit your manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDFs are not accepted.

  • Language: Articles must be written in Indonesian or English, with clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.

2. Manuscript Preparation

  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices. Shorter or longer manuscripts may be considered with justification.

  • Font and Spacing: Use Palatino Linotype, 12-point font, with single spacing throughout the manuscript, including references and notes. Use 3 cm margins on the top, right, and bottom, and a 3.5 cm margin on the left.

  • Title and Abstract:

    • Title: Provide a concise and descriptive title (maximum 20 words).

    • Abstract: Include an abstract of 150–250 words summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Use Palatino Linotype, 11-point font, with single spacing.

    • Keywords: Provide 3–5 keywords relevant to the manuscript’s content, without a period at the end.

3. Manuscript Structure

  • Main Sections: Organize the manuscript into clear sections, such as:

    • Introduction

    • Methodology

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • References

  • Headings: Use a clear hierarchy of headings:

    • Level 1: Bold

    • Level 2: Italicized and Bold

    • Level 3: Italicized, Not Bold. Avoid excessive levels of subheadings.

  • Tables and Figures:

    • Number tables and figures sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

    • Provide a concise title for each table or figure.

    • Ensure they are referenced in the text and placed after their first mention or in an appendix.

    • Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) for figures.

4. Citation and Reference Style

  • Style: Use the APA 7th Edition style for in-text citations and the reference list.

  • In-Text Citations: Use author-date format (e.g., Smith, 2020). For direct quotes, include page numbers (e.g., Smith, 2020, p. 45).

  • Reference List: Include all cited sources in a reference list at the end of the manuscript, formatted as follows:

    • Book: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of book. Publisher.

    • Journal Article: Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, volume(issue), page range. DOI

    • Chapter in Edited Book: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of chapter. In E. E. Editor (Ed.), Title of book (pp. page range). Publisher.

  • DOIs: Include DOIs for journal articles where available, formatted as URLs (e.g., https://doi.org/xxxxx).

  • Accuracy: Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all references.

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

  • Ethics Approval: For research involving human participants, include a statement confirming ethics approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee.

  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

  • Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to make data available (e.g., via a repository) or provide a statement explaining why data cannot be shared.

6. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Upon acceptance, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the journal’s open access model. For details on the APC amount and payment process, please refer to the Open Access Statement page or contact cakrawala.listra@uho.ac.id.

7. Post-Submission Process

  • Acknowledgment: Authors will receive an acknowledgment of receipt within 3–5 business days.

  • Peer Review: Manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, typically taking 4–8 weeks. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback.

  • Proofreading: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and proofreading. Authors are responsible for reviewing proofs promptly to ensure accuracy.

  • Publication: Articles are published online immediately upon completion of the production process, under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

8. Additional Notes

  • Language Editing: Authors whose first language is not English or Indonesian are encouraged to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission to ensure clarity and adherence to academic standards.
